Wham Vam..... paid more money for VAM

When I first started to collect coins many years ago, I've decided to collect Carson City Morgans first because a coin collector friend told me it would be expensive, but make a good collection (and perhaps, a good investment). I was in my twenties and did not know much about coins, but decided to learn as I collect coins. Went to this coin dealer looking for Carson City Morgan. He took out this 1891-CC Morgan graded MS-62 by NGC. The label said: 1891-CC, TOP-100, VAM-3, Spitting Eagle. My first impression was - "huh?" What's TOP-100, VAM-3, and Spitting Eagle. Then the dealer started to explain to me that this particular coin is worth more than regular 1891-CC morgan because it had TOP, VAM, AND the Eagle was "spitting". I was little dazed and hazed by his numismatic terms, but I thought to myself "can't go wrong with Carson City Morgans....". The asking price for the Morgan was $650 + tax, therefore, I paid the dealer and put the Morgan in the safe deposit box. Now, I am a collector and a dealer. As a dealer, I do not charge my customers extra for TOP, VAM, or any other designation for Morgans because I want to be a dealer with good ethics. Whenever I go to a coin show and sees dealer trying to charge me extra for all those designations, I just walk away. I wonder if the 1891-CC may be worth less if there was a TOP-100, VAM-3, "pooping" eagle.
