Peace Dollar MS53 and MS64 Set

The need for graded coins in the current market has almost dictated that the modern collector start and register graded sets.

Shortly after starting to purchase coins four years ago, I found a complete set of Peace Dollars at a local dealer. The set had great eye appeal and looked to be in uncirculated state. I had read in several books about how the grading of coins was done and what to look for to help determine the grade. The dealer was very helpful, and I feel very honest, when describing the grade of each coin for valuation. We valued the set based on the current "Gray Sheet". I purchase this set for the agreed price and am very happy with it.

I can asure you that if I had more expertise at the time I would have questioned some of the grades that were made. I also did not know how great a difference one grade, MS63 to MS64, could make as much as $1,000.00 difference in the value of a coin.

I still have the set and am very pleased with it. I am sure there are many people now selling coins to the many new buyers, much like me four years ago, that take advantage of the small difference that can change grade in upgradeing coins to make a better profit.

There are many grading services today because of the hot market in coins that will also take advantage of the lack on knowledge of many purchasers in what to look for in gradeing coins. Because of these "graders" I built this set of Pease Dollars in my registry on NGC or PCGS graded coins only!

I decieded to built this MS63 and MS64 Peace Dollar to compliment the non graded set. I have purchased these coins from local dealers and on the internet.

The set is nearly complete. I hope to finish it in the next six months. Look for more additions later.
