Being disrespected
It is sometimes hard to be a kid in the Coin World?
When I go to shows sometimes dealers look at me weird because I am only a 14 year old kid and what do I know. It is not until I sit down and talk to them that they actually see that I am pretty knowledgeable. At CoinFest this past month in Connecticut I started to talk to a dealer and he started to quiz me. At first he talked to me like I didn?t know a thing about coins. He then showed me a PR 67* Trade Dollar and asked me why Trade Dollars were made. I answered him and I was right. He kept on quizzing me and I got everything right. After a while we got to have a good conversation. But then I finally got some respect from a dealer out of Ohio. I had my best conversation with him and eventually bought a gorgeous 1883 NGC MS 64 Seated Half from him, the coin has every color of the rainbow on it and if you would like to see it I have pictures of it in my Type Set (I could not fit them in here because the files of the pictures were too big). I thought that maybe my luck was changing but the next dealer I went to wanted nothing to do with me.
This has all taught me a good lesson because if I am ever a dealer one day and I see someone come to my table that is young I will be extra nice to them.
I have learned from my experiences which is always a good thing
