The balance between collecting and relationships.

Well, it happened yesterday. My excitement upon getting another coin that I won on auction was a bit marred by the reaction from my wife.

WHAT??? ANOTHER ONE???

Now, I don't want any of you reading this to think negatively of my wife.

She has been loving and supportive of me and all of my strong points and flaws from day one.

She is the reason why I am successful in my career, and the reason why I have joy and peace in my life. She is really a fantastic human being, and I love her more than I can describe.

"HOW MANY DO YOU HAVE NOW???"

I have been on a tear lately trying to collect as many silver eagles as possible as I can only see silver rising higher and higher to where ( like gold ) I really can't afford to collect anymore. And I really do love the silver eagles.

The design, the feel, the luster. It's a piece of art and a great joy for me to own all of them.

For the record, I have about 16 of them now. Only a few graded so far. That's a pound of silver. I think a great investment.

After some discussion, she told me that it's great that I have this hobby. She just wanted me to realize that I have like this "addiction" about the whole thing.

I smiled and responded " You think I don't KNOW that?"

I told her I even call myself a "numismaniac"

We both had to laugh about that one.

So, I think she is right, though. Getting 2 or 3 coins a week is kinda getting steep in the pocketbook. So I'll limit it to 1 a month. Plus the subscription to the mint for my 1 uncirc. and 1 proof silver eagle a year.

I don't mind Liberty Walking....I DO mind the wife walking...

We bleed for our hobby, don't we?

On another note. I got my reults back from my coins I submitted. ALREADY!!
