A couple of tips you might want to check out.

Unlike the regular issue you are able to buy the W minted Silver Eagles right from the mint. I was lucky enough to order a subscription for 5 coins a year from the mint just in time to get the 2006W's like I do with Proof sets and Mint sets and the PR Eagles. The 5 Silver Eagles cost around $109 total for the 5. I sent the 5 2006W in for grading and got back 2 MS70 the others were MS69 I sold 2 of the MS69 and my 2 70's and the 69 were pretty much free. The 5 I got in 2007 came back 0ne was a MS70 and 4 69's. I sold the 69's and my 70 cost me about $30. The last time I checked the mint was still selling the 2007 W so there is no chance they will be anywhere close to the 2006's in rarity.

The $5 gold eagles should be for sale again real soon if not all ready at a new higher price, I might add. The regular Silver eagle for 2008 are being struck right now or might even be finished. We Will have to wait until January for them.
