I learned it the hard way

Unless some one is getting a large volume discount on grading of coins, selling common dates at grades of 60-64 is always a losing proposition. What other way is there to get higher graded coins than to buy roll after roll of raw coins to look through. Trusting your grading skills to pick the best ones and hoping they come back what you want. As the expenses mount up ask your self if I were to buy this coin in MS?? what would it cost, chances are less than what you have already spent trying to find one. I like getting coins graded also but have decided to only get coins that I have owned for a long time or moderns graded I have done real well with Moderns having all my Jamestown commems come back MS70 and 2006 W ASE two out of three get grades of MS70, a 1986 and 1996 ASE in MS69. I am going to use my next coupon on some Morgan Dollars I have been saving but other than that I am going to stick to my plan. When my Presidents come in I will break the 10,000 points milestone. A major accomplishment for some one who thought that graded coins were for---- well lets not go there, I was very wrong about that and the Collectors Society has opened up a whole new collecting world for me. A very pleasant one I would add. I hope this made some kind of sense if not all I can say is LATER JimL4004
