Presidents and Peace are on my mind again, no, still!!!!!

While searching for a pair of John Adams P&D in MS66. I ran in to a gentleman who is a member of the PCGS collectors org. although he doesn't participate in the registry, he has large numbers of coins graded. Like 400 Presidential proof sets and goes through dollars by the thousand dollar box. He told me that out of the 400 proof sets none graded higher than PR69ucam. He was very disappointed to say the least. He also lamented the fact that he thought NGC gave a more honest grade and that do to politics PCGS will not grade a presidential dollar higher than MS67.(What ever that means) One more thing he thought that NGC presidential dollars were bringing in a better price. I was amazed at how much he sounded like us. Well to make a long story even longer, I got around to asking about MS66 John Adam's, he smiled and told me that, that had been one of his bright spots he had gotten back a good number of MS66 Adams but alas had only a mismatched set left. which meant to him a P in position A and a D in position B. For any one who doesn't know PCGS recognizes the edge lettering in opposite directions as a different coin there dollar set are made up of four coins P a&b D a&b. I bought the two coins not giving a rats a_ _ what position they were. At a considerable savings. He then asked me if I would be interested in a Thomas Jefferson in MS67. I said I would. He said make me an offer. I did, he agreed I walked out with the two MS66 & A MS67 for less than I would of paid for the two Adams. I was pretty much in shock, after that.

I am now on the trail of a AU58 1924S Peace Dollar that I hope to capture by weeks end. If I lucky I will only have six left to finish my set.
