Into the fray again
I just couldn't resist...
Well, here we go. Another submission packaged up to go to NGC. This time around, it's going to be:
1) 1955 Proof Set (minus the Lincoln. I bought a Lincoln on eBay not too long ago to replace the one from this set. The one in the set looks like Abe got a nasty parasite in his ear such as a Guinea Worm)
2) 1957 Proof Set
3) 1959 Proof Set
4) 1999 Clad Proof Quarters
5) 1986 Statue of Liberty $1 and 50c Commemoratives
As I was putting this submission together, I got to thinking about a few things as well. This is an interesting situation that I find myself in, and I wonder if anybody else shares it. I find myself submitting coins simply for the thrill of getting them graded. These coins are not going to grade all that high, I don't think, and so there's no real investment incentive to do it. It's simply the pleasure of waiting to see what a professional thinks of pieces in my collection that makes me do this. This is simply a thrill submission...
However, when I say that I don't think that my coins are going to grade well, I'm being a bit inaccurate. I have great hopes for the 1999 Quarters and the 1955 Set. The Franklin in particular is outstanding, in my opinion, and now I'm already counting down until I can find out the opinion of somebody who knows what they're doing... :-) Happy collecting, everyone.
