Presidential Dollars Mint State and Proof

Ive been suprised again.

When the Presidential Dollars first started to come out I went right to the mint web site and subscribed for a roll of P&D of all of them. I also subscribed to the Proof sets. I now have six rolls of dollars and three proof sets not even opened. I was getting ready to open them up and start selecting the best ones for grading. First I had to checked out the E-bay actions to see if I could sell some of the extra ones that I was sure to have from my submissions and maybe recoop some of the money spent for grading fees. Well what I found out was I can buy them at auction and save a bunch of money. I got a set of four Proofs in PF69UC for $23.50 and $5.00 shipping. If I had set in one set of Proofs and the came back all a matching PR69UC my fees would have been $45 dollars for grading and $14.95 for the proofs from the mint. I will admit I bid in alot of auctions before hitting on the one that I won the average price was in the lower $30's which is still a pretty good savings. The PR70UC sets are going for about $200. I also got 1st day of issue MS65 Jeffersons for less than $7 a coin. And again I have to admit that I bid on alot of coins to win the ones I did, and ended up winning an extra set of the Jeffersons but that happens sometimes. Tomorrow I will try for the First day of Issue of the Washingtons and Adams. I will just leave the rolls unopened for now. I know not everone will go the lengths that I do to get the best possible price but what can I say. Im an addict, I know it, and I LOVE IT.

Added a Washington P&D NGC MS66 $35 for the pair.
