Dipping one's toes into the sea of collecting...

Greetings,

My grandparents and parents started my interest in collecting coins because mint sets were given to us every year at Christmas. They were welcome gifts. As I grew I collected a few odd sets of coins, until recently when the coin collecting bug bit again.

What beauty, what art, what wonder at holding something finely done, or old in one's hand.

In a largely virtual world, the tangible aspects of coins shared across generations seems to add a sense of stability to modern life.

All in all, the water seems fine.
