Why would you ruin a 1907 High Relief St. Gaudens if you knew what it was?
Someone put it in a claspe...
A guy was at a coin show looking at coins when someone (a guy looking on the floor like him) offered him a 1907 High Relief St. Gaudens. But it was in a claspe and cleaned. The claspe made huge marks on the coin when the coin was removed from the claspe. The guy said he knew it was worth a lot of money but he wanted to make it look a little bit nicer so he cleaned it. Of course, my dad passed. People sometimes baffle me because of the stupid things they do. The guy must know something about coins, why would he go and destroy an extremely rare coin?
