Talk about embarassing

I really wish that this website wouldn't try to think for you.

I just won a Panda on eBay yesterday, and was curious to see how many points it might be, so I tried entering the Cert# for it into my set, even though the listing said that might not be the one you get. I know, impetuous... but I was curious. If the coin I received was not the same, I would've removed it from my set and added the correct one. Anyway, I got an error message back saying that the coin was registered to somebody else, and that NGC would research it.

I really wish that there had been a control at that point that said "Hey, do you want us to research this?"

So, I immediately sent an e-mail to Support saying "Please don't do anything with this. I'll just be patient and wait for 'my' coin to arrive." Guess it didn't get to who it needed to get to, because I get an e-mail with an insert from the owner, who replied, in friendly enough terms, that he still owns it. Man, am I embarassed... :-)

Anyway, I really wish that this website would not try infer intent from the user's actions, and give a little bit more control to the user. Plus, I've also learned not to register a coin until it's physically in my posession.
