Depends

I personally would slab uncommon/rare/valuable coins either to protect them from the elements or if I would want to sell them later. For instance, I would slab a 1979-S Type 2 (Clear S) Anthony Dollar but not a circulated 1960 Franklin dollar (unless I had a good reason to). I slab most, if not all, proofs and bullion.
