This is going to take some time...

I just bought a Digital SLR camera for the purpose of being able to take decent photographs of my coins. It came with a manual about an inch and half thick, and is in print so small that I have problems reading it, even with my glasses on.

And since I know absolutely nothing about photography, beyond pointing the camera and pressing the shutter, this will be quite a challenge. However, I have two things working in my favor.

1) I have a lot of batteries

2) I have this site as an excellent resource, because some of the members here take incredible shots, and are very generous with their advice.

If everyone can tolerate looking at really bad pictures, perhaps I'll post a couple in the coming days...
