"WHAT IS A TEASER?"

I started coin collecting when I was ten years old. But I stopped when I was 13 years old. I went back to coin collecting in 1973. I started buying Mint sets, Proof sets, from the U.S. Mint. My first full collection was the Franklin Half Dollars set, which I bought at a dealer in the Gimbels and Macys Department stores, I spent $200.00 on this set. In 1986 I sold this set for $550.00, this set had about 6 or 7 Full Bell Lines coins.

In late 1973, I went to the bank to get a roll of nickels, the wrapper was clear plastic, I saw what looked to be a penny in the roll, when I openned it up I found a "nickel die" on a "penny planchet", I went to the "ANA" on 168th Street in Manhattan, New York, and they told me it was authentic and was worth at that time $75.00. Last year I sent my nickel to PCGS to be certified, it came back to me as MS61, the population report shows that their is only one in that grade, I called a dealer friend of mine and he says my coin is worth any where from $50.00 to $500.00, not bad for a price I paid (.05 cents).

I am now starting to buy gold coins and Gold American Eagles.

I am now trying to sell some of my less expensive coins trying to brake even on their sale.
