Ancient bug is starting to bite.....

Nice??? Heyuys and Girls, I just started learning a little about ancient coins and have a total of 4 high graded anciets of the the Roman Empire age. I would have never believed how complicated it is to even begin collecting ancient coins. If you thought U.S. coins were tough ancients are of a total new breed. I will post a quick image and I apologize for the pic in advance. To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.

It first appeared to be a wartime penny???

What did they do??? Hi All, I have been going through a bag of 5,000 wheats. I came across an interesting penny which at first glance I thought it was a war time peeny (1943). Well I glanced at the date and saw 1957..?? Then I looked at the rim of the coin and that part looked as it should. I will post a pick and hopefully someone will have a funny answer for me, like they painted it or maybe it was struck with zinc?? I do not know.... I received the last 4 coins tonight after work. I might add it was perfect timing, tomorrow morning we leave on a 7 day cruise. Anyway my rank is 1 for the set, but I have to say it was the coin that caught my eye initially, than the competitiveness set in. Either way I thought I would share this with all of you. 2007-2008 Presidential Dollars

OUCH.... Hey Friends, To upgrade my comp set I just purchased the 2007-2008 (S-mint) presidential dollars. I cannot believe how much of a jump in price from PR69 to PR70. The 07's were $163 and 08's were $96 dollars. I hope I made a wise decision on this one. I get a little nervous when I do not even have the silver content to fall back on. I have the 2012 in PR70 just need 09-2011 to make a perfect set to date. I will have some PR69's for sale soon... Anyway are the presidential dollars g

Holy Cow!!!! One afternoon my father in law said to me, "lets both take $250 dollars and buy some coins to sell on E-bay". I said sure, so we listed all our coins and took what profit we made and reivested and did the same thing several more times. Within six months we both had $2,000 dollars in our paypal accounts. That was 3 years ago and also the last time we bought and sold coins on E-bay for the most part. I have been collecting ever since and I might add am quite addicted. I have also en
