The stuff I wish I new before I started.
So the bug bit me about three years ago to start collecting more than just a handful of coins I had accumulated over time. I started by visiting my local coin shop and working on a dansco 7070 type set book. At that point, I was just trying to fill every whole in the set, which took about two months, then I added the gold page and filled all but the double eagles.
It's a nice way to start and everyone has a different budget that they are working
Completing Lincoln Wheats in Mint State, a long road finished!!!!
I've finally accomplished one goal, I was able to complete a Mint Set of Lincoln Wheats. What's funny about it is that the Key Dates were actually much easier to obtain, for a significant price, than some of the more common dates, specifically the 1920's San Francisco Mints. Close to completing a complete collection on US Cents 1793 to Current.
It's been a long and EXPENSIVE road, but I'm on the verge of completing a set of US Cents from 1793 to current. I'm still missing a couple of Keys (1793 Chain and Liberty Cap, 1799, and 1955 DDO). The reality is setting in though, as I added the 1793 Wreath and 1804 today, the reality of completion in setting in being only four coins away.
