My replacement NGC MS-70 ASE is poorly graded AGAIN - far from the MS70 it claims to be!!

I returned my 25th Ann. MS70 ASE due to a huge gouge on an MS70 grade and what I received, although better, was overgraded again. I am sure at one time or another you have all seen that NGC MS70 graded American Silver Eagle with those obvious contact marks. Those annoying small shiny spots where the coins have obviously struck each other, probably while in the rolls. Unlike the true perfection seen on an actual coin that deserves the 70 grade, these coins are far from being perfect. If we c

Just received a 25th anniversary label ASE MS70 (VERY DISSAPOINTING)!!!

Just wrote a controversial journal comparing NGC to PCGS a couple days ago. Today I received an MS70 Silver Eagle should be an MS68 at best. See for yourself I have always respected NGC although my preference has tilted towards PCGS as of late. I figured I would add the 2010 25th anniversary ASE to my complete eagles set, as in all eagles it is far from complete and my MS ASE set. Already, the response to my last journal has been huge. Seems like too many people are getting poorly graded co

I beleive both NGC and PCGS both offer a warranty on their grading service. The time has come for everyone out there to grab a 5x magnification device (as used by the grading companies)and inspect all our coins. Everyone that owns a less than perfect 70 or a 69 that shouldn't come close. We band together and collect on the warranty only this will bring about the necessary change. The following was my response to someone who wrote me complaining about a 69 graded coin that "literally looked l

Response to someone complaining about PCGS coins allowed in NGC registry.

I hope I don't upset too many people with my response as I own a substantial NGC collection but as Numismedia states that it is strictly for NGC graded coins so does PCGS state that their values are strictly for PCGS graded coins. I do respect Ngc for accepting PCGS coins and someday maybe PCGS will do the same or do most people think they should completely isolate each other? The person I'm reponding to went on about how much more value the NGC coins retained over their PCGS counterparts! I c

Nothing can replace the sentimental value of stolen set. Except, I can afford better second time around.

My first set began when I was 8 yrs. old and grew substantially and I was proud of what I had and one day the unthinkable, after 24 yrs. of collecting my set was stolen. I still remember walking down the old dirt road in Oklahoma while visiting my aunt. I found what said was 1 cent but I had never seen anything like it and at 8 yrs. of age I was able to learn about the indian head penny. That day a collector was born. I started looking at everything. Soon I had wheats and silver quarters,
