Selling the Statehood Quarters

Decided to take the step and sell. Decided to sell off the coins I'm least interested. After much debate with the wife, Ive decided to chop off the Statehood quarters. I have enough of these sets already (uncertified). Below is the link to my ebay entry. If you know anybody that is interested, let them know. I have a reserve set on them and its a tad lower than FMV. I didnt add any price for the NGC boxes that they will come in. I understand most people already have a bulk of these and only wa

Crossroads

I reached a point where a decision must be made. Hello fellow collectors. Today I was wondering what I should do with my coin collection. I will be moving from Ft Campbell, Kentucky to Ft Huachuca, Arizonia next month. My problem is I have too many coins to move. I wont let the Army move my collection so that means I have to move it myself. I was wondering what I should keep and what I should attempt to sell. First I was thinking about selling all my Presidential Dollar rolls (HSN ones that

Soul Crusher

My soul was crushed again Over the last few days I have been watching my submission invoice change status. Today when I logged on I seen that my status was changed to "Finalized"... my heart started to pump like crazy. I hit the link and was leveled. I seen that all six of my SAE were graded 69. When I was home on R&R I went over these coins with a 10X loop. I didn't see a single pin anywhere. These coins have been in their original mint packaging since the day they left the mint. I also

Sacagawea Question

Big price difference between NGC Graded Sacagawea and PCGS graded. I have a question for you pros out there. I have a PCGS MS67 Goodacre Presentation Sacagawea dollar. PCGS lists this coin, in my registry, for $700. When i added it to my NGC Registry it was given a value of $18.75. Why the BIG difference? MS67 population is low and very few are graded higher. Heck, only 5000 of these dolls were made. Any thoughts? To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be ad

Morgan Point Loss

WOW, the Morgan's took a hit recently. I noticed when I logged in this morning that my Morgan's lost some points. Then I took a peek at the Top 10 and WOW, did they take a hit. What happened? Did somebody discover a long lost hoard of Morgan Dollars? Well, gotta get those points back. Time to dispatch the wife on a mission. Have a great Memorial Day!!! RE: I call Bull-Sh**!

Posted: 4/26/2010 10:55:09 AM Views: 115 Coins in registry they don't own! I call Bull-Sh**! I will not reveal my source (WHY NOT, EXPOSURE SOMETIMES IS THE CURE), however I have been told that there are a number of farces on this registry. It was brought to my attention after I purchased a coin on EBAY and someone else had it in thier registry (I JUST EXPERIENCED THE SAME SITUATION). Normally I would think they owned the coin at one time, but when I contacted the seller, he stated he b

I just thought about something from my last post..

New thought on Kamakazy's post. Kamakazy recommended that if you dont post a picture with your registry entry, it shouldnt be added. I responded that the terds would then save the pictures from Ebay and post them. Who in Ebay could we engage to ask about watermarking pictures. For example, if you are selling something and add pictures of your item, Ebay would then watermark the picture with EBAY going across it. That way the terds would not be able to right click and "save picture as". Or Ebay

Ebay... again....

Ebay.. trials and tribulations Why is it that sellers will list a high value coin for low prices and then ignore the buyer when they win. I recently won (and paid for) a beautiful coin on ebay for way below book value. I had tried to contact the seller several times asking if everything was ok and never recieved a response. I know that I just sucked the egg on this deal. Im writing this journal in response to all those who swear by Ebay. Let me tell you, Ive been burnt on Ebay more times than

RE: What should I do

Response to Yevrah What should I do? Posted: 3/15/2010 10:02:52 PM Views: 29 1868 S XF 45 NGC, obviously over-graded, IMO, should I keep it? Look at theses images of the coin. Tell me that this is a XF45! I think it is VF35! I paid XF money for it. I wonder how many times it has been sold and returned? I wonder if the seller is part of this community!? Take a look at the pics. Let me know what you think. XF or VF, keep it or send it back. I would keep it, why not? I agree with you

Pictures

Registry Pictures Finally finshed up my pictures for my registry. I have to say that my wife has mad skills. Ive been trying to get it right for sometime now. She takes a crappy 6 year old digital camera and snaps some great shots. Then she gets them the perfect size to load to my registry. So, my hat is off to my wife.. she rocks!!

Grading Submission

My first submission turning out to be bad experience. So i submitted 3 coins back on the 21st of January. The first worries were provided by the Postal Service. It took 6 days to go from Clarksville Tennessee to NGC. I was wondering if the Pony Express was used. They arrived on the 27th and I was relieved! I was thinking that I would get them back pretty fast because I submitted them Express. Well today is the 2nd and they are still listed in the Quality Control. It seems that 48 hours is real
