Trying to make up my mind.

Recently I've been bouning all over the place with what I buy. I've been keeping up with all you folks and your journals recently, BTW congrats to the award winners this year. Recently I have found myself with the problem of setting a goal for myself with a certain set. I seem to start sets but quickly loose interest in them and move on to somthing else. I guess I just like most everything out there. I have come across a coin though that has caught my eye. The Great Britain Trade Dollar has

Interesting web site

Recently I ran by this neat web site. Its called Coinstv.com. I'm pretty careful with new sites (Just cleaned mine up after getting a nice virus) but this one has several youtube based videos that are dedicated to different types of coins. Anyway, happy collecting!

NGC graded details

Wondering how this works. As of recently I have been pretty broke, well as far as extra money for collecting goes. I started collecting peace dollars a few months ago but had to stop due to lack of funds. So recently I developed a plan to lower my price range and go for what I can afford. At any rate, I ran across a coin that caught my eye; however its that new NGC graded "details." I guess NGC started slabbing problem coins, which I have no problem with. I was wondering though, can I add a

Long Beach Coin Expo

Things really are slowing down. I have just come home from the Long Beach Coin Expo. It was a very nice trip, save the weather. As I Perused the tables various dealers, I couldn?t help but overhearing their conversations with each other. Most were hopeful; however realistic and a common theme was "Well I'm making sales, they are just harder to come by." I also think the trip changed how I feel about how I have been spending my money. Now I think I will try for a good Peace set. I have stayed

Could use some expert help on this one....

Ive never seen this before and hoping that someone with more knowlege could help me out. I recently purchased a 08 Bald Eagle $1 on the bay in MS 70. I made the mistake of assuming that the picture in the listing was that of the coin I bought. Anyway....When I got the coin home I immediately noticed that on the obverse at about 11 and 2 o?clock there was blackness, for lack of a better word (see picture below), on the rim. I have never seen a MS 70 coin with this kind of negative eye appeal

Who cares about the price of oil!

Who cares about the price of oil! So I have been looking around at some news and chat boards and have seen that for the 2010 year the mint is going to make a commem set for the solar system. Each planet gets a silver $1 and the sun gets a full one ounce gold $50, for an estimated price of about $1,900 on todays gold and silver prices. That makes 9 silver $1's and a gold $50 just for that set, along with the 2010 wounded soldier's silver $1. Lets not forget the new '09 ultra high relief double
