My Heritage Auction Experience Jounals #1, #2, #3 & #4

NGC has removed my journals ... I received an email from NGC this afternoon stating that they have removed my journal entries on my Heritage experience. I was informed that the journals are a place to share experiences and knowledge and that NGC's action was not one in defense of Heritage. That's funny. I thought that was exactly what I was doing. NGC also said that I should not have multiple threads on a single topic. My journals have been posted for more than a week (I believe) with a fair

Response: Heritage. I'd love to hear from others.

I'm the guy who started all this ... ... only to find that my 4 journals have been deleted by NGC. I find it interesting that the official grader of the ANA removed my journals about one or so hours after my last contact with the official auction house of the ANA. Coincidence? Maybe. NGC stated this afternoon that journals are for sharing experience and knowledge and that is what I thought I was doing. They also stated that it should be a diary of my collecting experience. Buy the Coin, Sell the Holder

How many times have you heard in your collecting experience a dealer or fellow collector say ?Buy the coin, not the holder.? Obviously, I?m referring to coins that have been professionally graded. There is much truth in this statement largely due to the fact that not all grading companies are created equal. Seasoned collectors are well aware that education is their best weapon against spending hard earned money on an improperly graded coin. If you spend the time necessary to learn about a spec

Yes, I really need CAC certification - Response

The original author was not knocking CAC ... The author of the original journal was not knocking or voicing displeasure with CAC, they are simply asking if we really need CAC. They are asking questions that we should all be thinking about and asking for ourselves. Your response makes me feel a need to defend this young person?s original intent. In reading the 2007 Registry Award article this person is a young numismatist and I commend him/her for taking the time to think about changes in our

A COLLECTOR?S VIEW

Remembering rewards from earlier days ... Let me start by telling you that I have been collecting coins for the better part of 30 years. I consider myself someone of average means working a white collar job in middle class America. If you are like me and my family you know first-hand that this is not an easy task. We are the ?dying breed? whose shoulders carry much of the financial burden in our great country today. One day when I was about six years old I found a Buffalo nickel and a Winged
