Well, NOT "Elusive" if you have lotsa CASH
Wow! People are really crazy ( me included ) about the 2006 w silver eagles.
I have one in original mint packaging, ungraded, that I paid 89.00 for 3 weeks ago. Now I don't even see the ungraded for less than 150.00. This may seem like a re-print of my last entry, but really, this is amazing!
So I weigh out the dilemna about whether to get my coin graded ( knowing it will be at LEAST a ms 69) or do I buy a pre-graded MS 70 for about 200.00?
Pardon the Pun
I really wish I started collecting silver eagles last year. I cannot believe the prices of last years 2006 w silver eagles. I have been watching the price of a 20th anniversary set go from 350.00 about a week ago...to upwards of 1500.00 now.
Even an uncirculated 2006 w UNGRADED is going for 160.00. I bought an ungraded 2006 w uncirculated silver eagle 2 weeks ago for 89.00 and I SWORE I spent too much. I am now trying to acquire an MS 70 2006 w uncirculated silver eagle...and
Will it come back to haunt me?
So, after much thought and personal deliberation...and err...ok mumbling to myself....nightmares...etc.
I decided not to take the "NGC 69 2006 Bullion One of 1st 50,000" coins I was thinking very hard about acquiring. I am sure it would be a great addition to my collection, but I just cannot bring myself to buy a bullion coin, graded or not, for $60.00.
Now, I am positive this is going to come back and haunt me. 2006 is a real banner year for American Eagle
It's Nice to have SOMETHING considered "perfect" ...I think?
Now, I am just anordinary guy with ordinary tastes and not reall a whole lot of "needs".
But when I saw this MS 70 W Silver Eagle Uncirculated coin, I got what treasure hunters refer to as "the fever".
Day after day I lost sleep, anticipated and even OBSESSED about getting the coin and not having it be lost..or the deal falling through, etc.
When it did finally get here I IMMEDIATELY registered it on my NGC registry, and s
Now, to get to a dentist from all the stress teeth grinding for the past week...
Don't you love it when a plan comes together?
So, as I mentioned in an earlier entry, I have been awaiting the results of a deal I was trying to get on an early release NGC 70 Silver Eagle.
And I did get it. For $60.00!!
I have been seeing these in coin shops and in advertising pages for 150.00 and up. So I feel like I got a pretty good deal.
I have to say, I will be proud to post this one in my co
My computer has a REALLY DIRTY MIND!!
So the other day I went to my search engine ( I use Dogpile) to look up some "NGC MS 69 Silver Eagle Coins" <--- exactly how I listed it in the search criteria.
My computer then went to a WARNING screen stating " WARNING: The search criteria you listed MAY CONTAIN MATERIAL UNSUITABLE FOR ANYONE UNDER 18. MAY CONTAIN ADULT CONTENT..."
Now, this took me aback as I never imagined a GRADED COIN as being anything "dirty" and I thought and thought abou
Yes, I know that phrase has already been....COINED
Greetings everyone!
Now, I have to confess something right away. I am fringing on being maniacal about acquiring Silver Eagles...namely NGC graded 2006 and 2007 W uncirculated Silver Eagles.
Last night I awoke at 2 am in a dream..NIGHTMARE rather that a deal I am working on related to a 2007 W Early Release MS 70 uncirculated Silver Eagle fell through...and I could not get myself back to sleep as I was busy pondering how BAD that wo
What is a good price?
So, the other day I bought a 2007 bullion Silver Eagle coin from a mail source and I ASSUMED ( we all know what happens when we ASSUME) it would come to me in a plastice coin holder as most would when most coins are ordered.
But it came to me in a padded envelope wrapped in a small coin sized envelope.
I thought thwe coin looked pretty sharp until I transferred it into a coin holder holding a 1993 Silver Eagle that is tarnishing a bit ( another story) and I looked
Yeah..OK..I am NEW!!
I have to say, I have not been this excited to have a collection since my baseball card collection in the 80's and getting more than a few rookie cards and also getting autographs from my heroes (Reggie Jackson, Johnny Bench, Willie Mays) just by writing to them and ASKING.
Now I am very thrilled to be collecting Silver Eagles, and covet the W mark and getting graded coins. This is a work in progress and I am certain I will pay wayyy too much for some coins, and get awa
