Bought this coin over the internet a few weeks ago.
This coin is a very nice original 1806 Draped Bust 25c, AU-53. It is toned just right for me and still has some luster. I saw the photos of it, had it sent, and it looks as nice or better in hand. It is high among favorite coins of my collection.
Still trying to recover from the ANA show.
To me at least, trying to stay within my coin budget is difficult. After the ANA I am now trying to save up for a couple of months to have some funds available when I see the "Special" coin for my type sets. Seems as soon as I buy a piece I see another that then gets bought before I can come up with the money.

Went to the show on Wednesday
My son in law and I went to the show on Wednesday. This was the first big time show for either of us. (It was only an 1-1/2 hour drive).
The show was neat with most of the large dealers there and lots of top end coins to look at. Prices asked for nicer coins were definitely higher than the Redbook and CW trends. The availablity offered was amazing. You could find pretty much any coin, one could be looking for.

Couldn't work out a trade
I recently saw a coin that an on-line dealer had listed. It looked fairly nice and so I contacted the dealer with a few questions. He answered them ok, but I had an additional question as I wanted to trade a piece that I had picked up an upgrade for a while back. He would not give me a firm trade value until he could see the coin, which is understandable. When pressed for a ballpark pending a final review when he had the piece in hand, he came back with a very low amo

After 2+ years of maintaining my collection here, I decided to start my journal. I guess this was prompted by Michael Cooper who so kindly responded to my question in regards to internet dealers. Thanks for your response Mike!
