It's real, but not really.
Well the testing came in this morning. The half eagle is gold, but not genuine. It seems to be a casting. At least that is what my local expert collector is telling me. Took him a few minutes and 16x loupe to tell me that. I'll have to say he has better eyes than I. I could not see what he saw. Oh well, it retains it's sentimental value for me. I'll keep it knowing it was from my dad. Time to move on and get the next batch on its way.
My first submissions have come home
I was so glad to see my babies come back. Whew. Never, ever have I sent any of my collection so far away for so long a period of time.
I have to say I am totally underwhelmed with the results of my first submissions. Only one of the five came back encapsulated.
