why does this happen!

i recently aquired a nice 1979 p wide rim ms66. pop is 200/36. why is a 300$ coin only worth 72 points in regestry.

Those of us who collect early type ask the same question. I was amazed when I saw that Wheat Cent in PR-65, Red pulled in 1,762 points. 893whatthe.gif According to Coin Prices magazine, the coin is worth $6.

 

Yet an 1806 half cent in MS-62 Brown gets 1,707 points lists for $1,200 in MS-60, Brown.

 

There is something wrong here, but good luck with getting the powers at be to even respond to a private message.
