Who is going to Baltimore in 3 weeks?

16 posts in this topic

Bryan (Tonekiller on the PCGS forum) and Adrain (Anaconda Coins) will be there and sharing a table. I believe it's table number 061. We invite everyone to come by and visit!

Thanks!

Relying on memory, St. Mary's county is in southern MD. It is not that close to the sniper but if you travel to Baltimore your trip will take you past the outskirts of DC through Prince Georges county in MD.

Welcome over here, gsaguy. We look forward to seeing some pics of your collection. The stuff I've seen in person is great, and I really liked those pieces that Supercoin posted a week or two ago across the street.

You'll find people here who appreciate that NGC coins are as nice as that other service's product.

Actually, I think the folks here are more inclined to judge a coin irrespective of the holder. It's not a service to service thing as much here, but more of a coin to service thing.

EVP,

I agree, but the first thing that gets asked across the street when a beautiful coin is highlighted is "will it cross." If the person has no intention of crossing the piece, then the coin is "devalued" by that revelation.

Keith,

I should confess that I also ask myself the question ``will it cross.'' I do so because I want my coins to be solid for the grade, and that if I believe it to be MS63, then I want it to be solid enough of a 63 to be that -- or better -- in any holder.

Yes, but is the question now really:

A. Will it cross straight up?

B. Will it cross if I crack it out first?

C. Will it cross if I Cross Any Grade, allow PCGS to slab 1 point lower, then submit for regrade and let them get it right?

The answer gets so complex that I quit asking the questions, and instead have decided to rely on my gut feelings.
