Coin Dealers : How often do you "partner" on a rare coin?

I often see dealers partner up on coins. The upcoming 1804 dollar (ex Amon Carter, Flannagan) was last bought by two dealer partnered together.

 

I also know of many instances of partnering with much lesser coins and also with a great deal of frequency...

 

Sometimes they do so to spread the risk, other times because each person brings a different essential aspect to make the deal happen. Many different possible reasons...

During my second stint as a coin dealer I have never partnered with anyone on a coin. Many years ago I did have a partner, and we sometimes split the cost of some pieces and shared the profits.
