Well I have decided that I want to purchase both the Proof and Uncirculated coin. I want to purchase them in MS 69 and PF 69. So i was just curious what everyone thought would be a great purchasing price for these coins?

I was thinking if I could get them both for a total of $300 that would be a great deal. Any thoughts?

That used to be the going rate about 3 years ago for them raw, then they slowed down quite a bit. However, they've swung back in the past year or so. So, $300 would be a decent price for them slabbed.

You'll sometimes see them offered anywhere from $135 to $185.

These have seen a truly ridiculous price runup since the release of the Gold Buffalo coins. By that I mean a doubling for NGC MS70/PF70UC examples from $250-300 to $500-600 on eBay. My advice would be to bide your time, monitor the market to get a feel for prevailing prices, and wait for the craze to subside.

Patience is a virtue where your wallet's concerned. There's no shortage of pieces with some 5,077 in MS69 and 5,172 in PF69UC (NGC only). With a total mintage of half a million across the two strikes, and current prices in the stratosphere, it's safe to assume the certified population will increase in response. Frankly, at these levels I'd be a seller and not a buyer.

I truly don't mean to be discouraging. I just think if you haven't followed the recent price history of these coins, you should know we're presently at the top of the market before making a decision to buy.

Regards,

Beijim

I didn't realize this but it makes perfect sense. Thanks for keeping me honest, Bejim!
