Help me grade this 1879 Dollar

VF 30 is about right, but the coin is cleaned and the spot on reverse would detract from it.

How can you tell it is cleaned?

From your images provided it looks to have been wiped or polished. You can see hairlines on the which would indicate this.

Assuming that the 1879-S dollar is placed on a white sheet of paper as background, I can tell you immediately that you white balance is off. This makes the coin look rather odd in color, however, I'm not so certain it has been cleaned based upon those images. Sure, it has marks, scrapes and hits, but the coin is also moderately circulated.
