Post your honest Opinions of the coins, My images and the grade you would put it at. Coins are both Raw. I know I blurred the pics in my haste to photo the coins. I could surely get that out fairly easy. Thanks for the opinions!

The first one looks 65/66 to me although I'm not good at grading blush.gif Nice color!!

The second one, I'm concerned about the black "toning" at 2 O'clock on obverse....is it just a toning spot or corrosion?

I don't think its corrosion, I think it may be toning but I am not 100% sure.

Somehow I doubt that. I will hold off my grading opinions till a later time.

toyonakataro,

I'm sure that you know a whole lot more than you give yourself credit for. Afterall, how could you assemble such a magnificient type set like you have without being somewhat selective and grade conscience?

p.s. I love your collection! cloud9.gif

First of all the pics are nice. However, a steady camera set up may be in order for you. I have the same problem....

As to the coins: The top one looks real if only for the fingerprint behind the head. I just looks like mint set toning...

The one on the bottom is more questionable. That little rainbow below "TRUST" is what sets off the alarm bells for me....

I did not notice the blurr till after I was done shooting. I can easily fix the blurr. I will reshoot both coins later with no blur at all.

I really like the first one, but...

I'm sure that you probably know more than me about toning, but that second one just doesn't feel right, if you ask me. It may be alright, but I just don't like it.

In my opinion. The second one looks like it was burned with maybe a fine tip on an acetylene torch. The black spots on it resemble an unsteady hand. Notice the spots seem to wobble. If I’m correct I also would assume someone wanted to wash off the carbon which would be a by product of the burn and this could be done with any oil based material, they couldn’t use acid dip for fear of loosing the colors. This is my opinion and makes me suspicious of the first one. Seeing there resemblance.

Also let me add and I have never tried it however a magnifying glass used in the sun could possible duplicate these black spots.

Just my opinion.

The first one is a no brainer NT, the 2nd is more in question but I still think its NT. Thanks for the opinions.
