The Complete Guide to Buffalo Nickels - New Edition !!!

A new, Third Edition of my book The Complete Guide to Buffalo Nickels is now ready for shipping. It has been extensively revised, with updated prices and certified population data, as well as more illustrations and pop data for the popular varieties. The history chapter, always my favorite, has also been enhanced with advance information and documents from Roger Burdette's pending reference on the coins of 1909-15.

It will be my pleasure to sign and inscribe any copies sold by me of this and my several other titles. These are available at my new website, www.coincollectingboards.com.

You'll see that in addition to offering my books for sale, I also offer to buy vintage coin boards for my collection. This is my real collecting passion, and I've been hunting them down for the past 20 years. There are collection highlights illustrated at my website, along with some photos of me on the job at various shows, etc.

This site was just launched today, so please check it out and post your evaluations.

That's great, David. I'll be ordering a couple of books. Will you say nice things about me in the inscription even if not true? grin.gif

I'm a writer, so I imagine I can make up something believable.

Just kidding. Thanks for the support.

You write fiction? blush.gif We've had quite enough of that in numismatic writing! Did your collecting of coin boards ever take you into a study of the quality of toning attributable to each kind?

David, I'd love a copy of your new book. Can you please mail me a signed copy and just bill me for cost and shipping?

A few of them have Ovaltine stains left by kids who were pushing pennies into their boards while attempting to decode Little Orphan Annie's latest message. Is that considered natural toning or AT?

That actually sounds like a very interesting study. Although it would probably be difficult (and require many years to accomplish), it might be very useful.

Actually Hoot, since we both know that AT sometimes does get into holders and NT sometimes doesn’t, I think the real question should be one of intent.

Was the Ovaltine spilled on the board by accident, or was it purposely spilled in an attempt to defraud? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Excuse me but why would ANYONE bother with Ovaltine? That's just the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Any dimwit would knows Nestle's Quik is far superior. Ovaltine schmovaltine....

Speaking of which....I wonder what I did with my Easy Bake Oven.... 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Ovaltine is the official drink of Little Orphan Annie. You'd know that if you hadn't lost your decoder ring. grin.gif

Not necessarily his age, but I'd be worrried about him shooting his eye out.
