What type of toning is this?

Yeah the closing price was higher than I expected. There were two things that had me interested in this coin. The first is simply that there don't seem to be as many Peace toners as in other silver dollar series. The second is that toning often tells the history of a coin. I didn't understand what had happenned to this one. In some instances, I would be willing to pay a premium for less attractive toning, if the toning depicted an interesting history.

I'm seeing more and more people like paying lots of money for marginal for the grade, ugly coins, because they are toned. Looks like the reverse of that one either spent too many years in either a mustard jar or a urinal, not sure which.

Personally, the color doesn't do much for me. However, toned Peace dollars are hard to find. The yellow and blue mixture on the reverse might be pleasing in person. It's unusual and if you're looking for a toned Peace, this is one of the better looking ones you'll find.

I wouldn't have paid as much as the coin went for, but yes I do like it. I would have paid a premium for it - maybe 1.5 X PCGS price guide. Like you said Greg, toned Peace dollars are hard to find.
