Plated or Not

I found this and thought it was a very good attempt at zincery.

hi . im not sure if your asking someone opinion if this cent is plated or not ?

To me it looks like it has been plated. it resembles some pennies i find with my metal dectector . they all get a weird color after they have been outside for awhile and what they have been in. Jeff

no I just thought this was one of the better attempts at zinc plating I had found so I posted it. I also kind of like the look of it.

It looks like someone attempted remove the copper plating from the zinc core or it wasn't properly plated to begin with.
