I have been told this was AT. Reverse looks the same if I can find it, i'll post it.

Would you beleive it was found in an unsearched roll of Dimes? 27_laughing.gif

I think your Bicentennial quarter might be NT, and the reason I write this is because I also have a 40% silver Bicentennial quarter that has been sitting in an album page for many years and it has also acquired toning that looks eerily similar to yours.

I posted this earlier and I wanted to compare it to a Proof 69 star Ultra Cameo which I saw it sell on Ebay for more than $2,000.00 a few months back. I am trying to figure out why mine Bagged and the Proof Slabbed. I am not trying to discredit the Proof or the grading company but am only trying to understand the difference without starting a big debate.

If anyone wishes for me to remove the image of the Proof just let me know and If I’m unavailable ask the moderator. This is for educational purposes. Thank you.

This is my 1992 MS Eagle

Proofs tone way faster than MS coins. The proof is MA to NT... Your coin is still considered AT... I think the Washington QTR you posted is NT as well

I was just thinking the same thing Hayden... Never had one before, picked up a few from other members, and headed to a coin show in a few weekends to pick up a few more smile.gif

It’s amazing how all the tiny little contact marks caused by abrasive cleaning is magnified with digital photography. Of course that is assuming it has been cleaned. It could have been stored in a container with other coins for a long period of time and just got banged up. The light reflecting off the marks make Liberty look as though she is walking in a snow storm.

Oh, that golden toning you see on the rim, I have noticed a few other WLH I have in a Littleton Album doing the same thing. To bad about the cleaning.

I don’t remember how much I paid for this, it wasn’t much, I hope. 893whatthe.gif
