Oh no, my original post had a typo and I asked about the 1889cc. Since there is no such animal, what I really wanted was info on the 1879cc. There seems to be two varieties a regular cc and a capped CC. Does anyone know the mintage numbers on these. It seems the Capped version is not worth as much as the regular variety. How rare are the Capped overstruck versions? Regards, Rick.

My recollection is that the Capped variety was 25-30% of the mintage.

 

Twenty to thirty years ago it sold at a substantial discount to the normal variety becaquse many collectors thought it was a fake.
