Farrukhabad pice

3 posts in this topic

I have come across a Farrukhabad pice of India, Bengal Presidency, KM 64. In KM it is unpriced, which generally means it is scarce, bu there is no comment about its rarity. I can find nothing about the coin on the web. It is definitely not the relatively common trisul pice, KM 65, which is mentioned frequently.

The coin is in very presentable condition, better than fine. Does anyone have any idea as to its value? I was thinking of selling it on eBay, but don't think eBay is the best place for rare material as specialist collectors may not spot it.

Thanks

David

According to my older (1996) Krause, the following prices are given:

KM#64 (pice)

G=$35.00, VG=$75.00, F=$120.00, VF=$200.00

KM#65 (trisul pice)

G=$1.50, VG=$3.00, F=$10.00, VF=$30.00

based on these older price comparisons, maybe you can calculate a fair price using newer catalog prices.
