Question On Pricing...

8 posts in this topic

When I use the PCGS price guide to price my slabs, I usually markdown 20-25%. What is the usual markdown for numismedia pricing? I would assume that if PCGS can't keep an accurate price guide, than Numismedia can't be much better. 20-25% also?

The best price guide for relatively common coins would be an auction venue like Heritage or Ebay. Just check their respective archives.

The PCGS price guide is actually extremely low for the coins I collect.

I was thinking for instance the 2005 Clad California quarter in PF70. Numismedia lists $75, but I got it off of ebay for 1/3 that. I checked Heritage, lowest was $33, but they went into the $150 range.
