a good list of modern commeratives?

20 posts in this topic

Hi,

Am I asking too many questions today? 893blahblah.gif

Anyone know where I can get a good list of modern commeratives? Including whether they were issued in MS, PF, or both?

Coinfacts.com lists all the types, but not MS, PF, or Both.

or maybe I'm being stupid and all modern commerative are issued in MS and PF, but I don't think that is the case.

I would suggest the Red Book, they are usually pretty exhaustive, including listing the multiple coin sets that were issued, though the mintage figures may not be accurate on the newest issues.

Red Book... check...

The most recent Red Book I have is dated 1986.... really.

I've have to get a new one.

In the meantime I've also discovered that I can create a registry set that has it all, then copy/paste it into Excel, then clean it up a bit and presto! instant list!

Of course, I realize the Red Book hasmintage counts, etc. so I will get one.

thanks

The only modern commemoratives (or any commemoratives, really) I care about are the Statue of Liberty coins (My very first coin was a Statue of Liberty Proof Silver Dollar for my first birthday), and the First Flight coins.

But, I agree, if you need a good list, the Red Book is where it's at.

Coin World's Coin Values should have a complete list of modern commems and it'll tell you whether the coins were issued in MS and/or Proof.

Jesus, I'm old.

I have the Statue of Liberty Half which I got for either my birthday or Christmas in 1986. I was 14.

Jesus, I feel even older. I visited the Statue of Liberty during my senior year of high school in '65.

Doesn't get much more complete than the NGC population reports:

Modern Commemoratives (Proof)

Modern Commemoratives (Mint State)

Red Book is of course nicer because it provides photos, background, mintages (except in a couple of cases) and approximate average retail prices as of the time the data were compiled. For a quick overview, however, the census is handy.
