ANACS Raises Prices And Gives Slower Service

15 posts in this topic

Just noticed on the ANACS site that they go rid of their 10-Day $15 service and replaced it with a 15-Day $16 service. From what I've been hearing, they weren't coming close to the 10-day turnaround, so looks like they're now 5-days closer to meeting their guarantee. yeahok.gif

I really miss the old days of 5-days, $15 and you actually got your coins graded in 5-days. I'm scared to submit to them as I have no idea how long it'll be before I get my coins back.

They also upped the price of their Economy World from $16 to $18.

I hadn't noticed that. I dropped off some coins in Atlanta in early April at the ANA show, economy. I noticed they billed my credit card about six weeks later on May 22. I'm still waiting for my coins. I'm trying to hold off on my opinion of the new ANACS until I see the coins, but it's getting harder every day. Christo_pull_hair.gifsumo.gif

Economy – 15 days means SIX WEEKS PLUS?!??

893scratchchin-thumb.gifMaybe they should change it to:

Modern – Don’t hold your breath

Economy – We’ll get to it when we’re darn good and ready.

15 Days (or weeks) – We’ll get to it... eventually.

5 Days (but probably a month) – as long as we aren’t on vacation

2 Days (week to 10 days tops, unless it’s more) – All right, all right! We’ll get of the couch!

Walk Through – Can’t believe they are paying that much! Ok you’ll get it tomorrow….or the day after that...or...

Economy is not the 15 day service. Economy is more like 2 to 3 months wait time. 15 Day is another service all together. I like this service as opposed to Economy.

15 Business days, right? So that could be 3 weeks. Do you usually get

them back in 3 or 4 weeks with the 15 Day service?

That's not too economical. I'll just have to decrease the number of world coins I send them from zero too... err, nevermind. blush.gif

It looks as if they are headed in the right direction if they want to capture some of the market share now held by PCGS. yay.gif

I blame the move for the backlog. We all know it slowed them down. End the end it will all work out.

Things will be ok if they scrap their flimsy new holder. I just got a couple of them. It looks neat, accept for the white bubble on the front of the label where they print the grade, which is very tacky. It feels great in your hand too, but it also squeeks and bends at the slightest touch, like you could snap it with one hand, using little or no effort...so it tried it, and yes, you can...pop = three pieces. Also, I seriously doubt it provides any protection for the coin inside; it can't be anywhere close to air-tight. They need to start using a harder plastic, and/or reinforce the design structure.
