This is true but your Roosters do have 2 feet so the steps could be endless.

I'll be the first to admit it. I cheated! Using my thumb and forefinger I enlarged the one coin, raw, which cannot be seen. Holy cow! And you make no mention of it at all as though it were found in a parking lot. You are a contender, my friend! Everything else, nice, as they all are, took a back seat to that Lincoln Cent whose date I dare not mention! Congratulations!

I think I finally found a nice example for my 42 S slot. I have been looking for this coin for a long time and have seen a few but nothing I ever really liked. I think this one looks pretty good. Looks to have a couple big die cracks on the obverse and some die polish lines on the reverse. We will see what the coin actually turns out to be in hand, but I’m pretty excited to get this one. This was the final coin I needed to complete the war nickel set. (Seller pics)

In addition to the 59' Jefferson I acquired  a few weeks back I decided that my daughter didn't need to be riding a white horse w/all the dressings to her upcoming wedding this Saturday but instead she would appreciate me getting a couple more upgrades for my 59' Birth Year collection. (I probably would have been stuck cleaning up after the horse anyways)
So with that being said, a very nice addition of a 59(P)rev label a lil' messed up but I didn't buy the label and 59D Washington piece. TY Heritage for having these available...now about those Lincolns
The addition of the last 3 had my ranking jump from #11 to #2 in the 59' MS category.

Got this one in today. Surprisingly low pop on this one at 3/0 and 6 step coins at 7/0. I think everyone at that time was focussed on the special finish coins. There are plenty of those out there. I feel lucky that I found this one.

Congratulations on your most recent catch!  I have a 2/0 coin but it's a 🐓 and they don't count.

Maybe so. I think the melt alone, last I checked, was $300. But again, what the Roostermeister alleges he has is just that. A claim. Nobody has ever come to my door and demanded I substantiate my claim to Set Registry ownership. An honor system exists. But I digress. I like every one of the coins you've displayed and Buffalo Head's photography skills, always top-shelf, are compelling and unsurpassable. IMNSHO.

To fellow members @Lem E and @The Neophyte Numismatist:  As long as you are both in it, to win it, I would like to politely suggest you check out, if you haven't done so already, a step-related thread, "Is this coin worth submitting for a regrade?" You will find fine examples of the step phenomena as well as a quick distillation of a Coin Week article I made reference to: "United States 1943-S Jefferson Nickel, dated Sept. 14, 2022, which includes an indispensable  feature, entitled: "To earn the designation of FS a Jefferson nickel must meet the following criteria:"  I have never seen Wartime Nickels as fine as yours!  Great stuff!

Thanks for the kind words... When it comes to nickels, I can't even stand in the same room with @Lem E.  I have a few nice nickels, and buy some here-and-there, but Lem E is the real deal, KNOWS this series, and truly has one of the best sets out there.  Outside of Lem E, there are several others on the threads that completely put me to shame in the 5-cent arena.

All that said, I do like the referenced thread and article, because when I do get nickels I try to get full steps.

The coin is predominantly white(Nickel) with a copper hue to it.  It weighs 2.3 grams.

It fits in well with my 1957 NGC Colorful 1957 Proof Set.

Picked this up from a PCGS forum member a week ago to fill the slot in my nickel type set.   Just one coin short of finishing that set, have not tried to image this myself and I think the PCGS TV is not very good but all I have right now.

Your 1883, if memory serves, was the year gold-platers practiced their art. The picture is vintage, absolutely up to par, and the coin is deserving of a high grade reflecting evidence of original mint luster.  I love the way the A and M in AMERICA have joined hands.
