That was the very first purchase I made to the US Mint.

I’ve bought some nice stuff from the mint but you need to be very selective.  I couldn’t pass on this one either.  I wanted the gold version and now I kick myself for not buying it back then as gold has increased in value substantially since 2019. That and it’s very attractive in gold.  What isn’t 🤪

I found both a few feet apart on a Manhattan street. I prefer the battered bottlecap on top for two reasons: a piedfort with primitive reeding because it is genuine and likely scarcer that its wannabe copper step-brother below.20210412_125034.thumb.jpg.0a1a2c445801bb0559f9223bec02a76c.jpg

The reverse looks like a bottle cap.

Very cool 😎

2 new additions to the collection. The 42 D has a small die crack at the back of his head.

I really like how a copper cameo pops, you get the real essence of what copper can look like.
I bet it looks even better in hand.
Great looking coin.

@Buffalo Head If you were to place an old wheaties on a R/R track, the coin would be elongated; if you were to place one in a vise, they were malleable enough to fold over in half. It looks like one of Alex of PA's growling dogs got this.

Not my coin.  It's a coin someone wanted me to image for them.  I make no claims to if it's an authentic error coin.

I just picked this one up.  It's a pcgs 63 in a green holder.  I find attractive with the color it displays.

I've always liked the Eagles, the strong looking stance they portray

Interesting design....but I'm going to have to side with the Gold piece....The brow and the hard look expression on the gold Eagle really stands out for me. That guy seems to be ummm juicing
