Tom, I'm in agreement with you 100%. If this is an example of one of his throw-away's, we're all in trouble. I think he's trying to corner the market on PR IHC's also. He's got some real "Beauties"! jtryka
I love old Mexican silver! I have a bunch of newps to post this weekend, and since Bruce started it, I might add my 1837 I purchased last weekend (certainly not as nice as his 1884, but heck it was only $15!). Bruceswar
Jeff look forward to seeing it. I picked that coin up in Mexico for $230 Pesos or $20.44 American... Sweet buy if you ask me.

TJ'S Coins
A Barber Quarter I picked up locally this week. The scan doesn't do justice to the beautiful blue target toning on the obverse. Edited June 24, 2006 by TJ'S Coins
TJ'S Coins
Now the reverse, the white area is actually very bright and lustrous, as is the whole coin. Edited June 24, 2006 by TJ'S Coins

jtryka
Ok, here are some of me recent purchases. This first one is in honor of TomB so he doesn't get confused on the rest of the coins in this post! Just a hole filler for my set that I picked up cheap while gold is down: This next one is for Bruceswar, since we both seem to like Mexican coins! I picked this up at a local show last weekend for $15, and it's not bad for 169 years old. It has nice luster but is very weakly struck. Also, I noticed that it is in medal allignment, while the 1888 I have is in coin allignment. Does anyone know if this is the way they were struck at that time, or is this a 180-degree die rotation? This next one if for bust half fans (and anyone that would like to help with an attribution). I got this one in a trade, and it's not bad for 197 years old! And this last one is for you seated fans that hate coins dipped to oblivion! I bought this one for my type set, and it's really hard to photograph tiny coins in NGC slabs! And no, there is no S-mintmark on the reverse!
Bruceswar
1837 .. Nice coin Jeff... Speaking of old Mexican coins.. I was once shown a "Hookneck" WOW! It was a sweet coin. For those of you who don't know what that is. It is an 1824 8 Reales with the neck reversed. All the other coins go one way while its the opisite. This is one of the most valuable Mexican coins known to exist. Unfortunately I did not have the money at the time to purchase it or I would have. EZ_E
Whew! Just beat another client by 3 minutes in picking this one up from Mark Feld: 1870 Legend Obverse Seated Liberty Dime NGC PR64 $650 Obverse with a white center (as compared to the pink hue that the image portrays) framed by colorful old time album toning at the border; reverse mostly color-free with considerable cameo contrast. One would be hard pressed to locate a noticeably better example for the grade and price.
TomB
Those are some seriously nice coins! How can you guys keep adding pieces at such a rate when I am lucky to get one coin every two months!?!?!?!?
Elbesaar
Hey, Tom, Join the "Club"...but, I have not seen anything that grabs me lately, and the ones that do are out of my reach at the moment. Except for a few decent VF Barber Halves every so often. My last addition is too large to attch, I'm afraid...but I'll try and see if it sticks...
