That Tamron still doing ok for you? Took the Iowa image with my Nikon D3000 & Tamron 90mm lens. I'm still kind of hit and miss with it but when I get it right... it's real nice. I shot that cathedral medal with it. Your new set up looks to give great results.
tejas1836
Won this on Heritage recently. Although it's probably a very poor 3rd or 4th cousin to one of Elbesaar's Barber dimes, I still like it.
lehigh96
This one is a little out of character for me, but I love equestrian coins/tokens. Edited February 19, 2010 by Lehigh96

MJ
Nice additions boyz! These two coins are the latest additions to the fledgling type set. When I found out this Washington quarter was part of TomB's registry set I bought it without blinking. If it was good enough for Tom........I love the colored obverse and the chiseled reverse. The piece spoke to me as I'm torn between blues and reds and this one had both. MJ Edited February 22, 2010 by MJ
SkyMan
MJ, LOVE the two coins! Gbsten, sweet looking GSA! I was at a small local show today and picked up a couple minor odds and ends. Got an OGH MS67 1943 1c Steelie for my Type set. Got 3 raw circulated Peace dollars, two; 1922 and 1928-S for doubling on the dates; one, 1926-S, for very nice album toning on the periphery. Jim Beam
All the coins shown here are just awesome! I think MJ's 1947-S Washington is just unbelievable. Where does a person get the opportunity to purchase something like that? Again, some really great coins by everyone!
physics-fan3.14
Jim, its all about being at the right place at the right time, with the right amount of money. Speaking of which, just bought this 1958 NGC 66FBL from Shane to upgrade my set. It got here in record fast time, too.

Where does a person get the opportunity to purchase something like that? Again, some really great coins by everyone! In this case in was part of a three way deal/trade which I was on the tail end of. I'm a big believer that when you are building a type set it's a good idea to get your pieces from the guru of that particular series. Since I consider TomB a maven on coins in general and a specialist in WQ's it was a slam dunk when his piece came my way in an innocent conversation with my favorite dealer. NICE Frankie Rocket Man! Jim Beam
That is a sweet looking Franklin! I just joined the NGC Collectors Society so maybe I will have better access to some decent coins. Not much going on in the cornfields of Iowa. Oh, a while back I did purchase a 1958 double mint set from PCcoins which I am very pleased with. Found it on the Buy/Sell section. FILTHYHOARD
I picked this one up for my type set, my first type 3 gold dollar. Since I haven't received it yet, I borrowed these pics from Heritage (although I didn't buy it from Heritage) Mark T was nice enough to locate the pics from a previous Heritage auction since the pics from the Ebay listing were sub-par. In the Heritage auction it said this coin was from "The Martin L. Diffenbaucher, Jr. Collection" Any significance?
