TPG = Third Party Grader as in grading companies that , through various methods, grade and encapsulate coins in whatever holder they support. The term Third Party is to mean that they have no direct interest in the coin being graded as either a seller /owner or a buyer/potential owner , and not neccessarily the method of grading itself either. Most TPGs use known grading standards , yet some deviate from others as to how they determine the final grade stated on their holder ( either guaranteed or not).
