Cracked mint strike

I was looking through some of my old Morgans and found this oddity. It's an 1880 with a crack in the coin from the inside of the rim along the first 8 and up to the lady's hair. It's difficult to see, however it's definately a crack and it caused the 2d 8 and 0 to be weakly struck. The crack does not go all the way through. I have heard of these but never actually seen one. I apologize for the poor picture....it's the best I can do. I added the black line where the crack is. Regards, Rick.

I would hope that the crack wouldn't go all the way through! That would be disasterous!

If the crack is incused, it's either a strike-through or damage.

 

If the crack is in relief, it's a die crack.
