Question about an off-colored penny

3 posts in this topic

hi again... i have this 1991 english one penny and it's color looks different. instead of the usual red copper color, it appears yellowish white (like a polished brass). is this some kind of error? the coin is in mint state and the original (patina?) is still there...

893scratchchin-thumb.gifmm....couldn't show right now coz i haven't scanned the coin yet...what i mean by "polished brass" is that the color appears too light than the usual penny color. as i said, its yellowish instead of reddish... i've seen these kind of "off color" on local coins here in the philippines.. i had this 25 cents almost yellowish silver in color even when compared to a BU 25 cents having yellow gold color. it is very rare to find one though..
