A few cool Conders

Superb, and so far I've managed to stay AWAY from Conders, and hopefully that'll continue! grin.gif

And where might one find one of these?

And how hard is it to find them in a condition comparable to those in the photos?

And give us some history!

Bill McKivor's website is a great place to start. Click on his "History section" for the best answer to IGWT's question. And be sure to click on his "Site Map" link at the bottom of the page. This is a treasure trove of great images and interesting coins!

As for auction houses, Dix Noonan is a British company that offers some incredible Conders and takes the best copper photos of any auction house I've seen. The downside is their website is not user friendly and is difficult to navigate and search. Just one example of the beautiful Conders they have sold: Middlesex "Swan" DH 174

The bible for Conders is Dalton & Hamer's The Provincial Token - Coinage Of The 18th Century. Hence the "DH" numbers you see on all Conder lots.

Beautiful images, and I really enjoy the Pidcock's animal series. If this series of tokens is not familiar with anyone, they should look them up to see some mighty cool stuff.

I own about 40 different. At one time, just a very few years ago, these were dirt cheap. I remember picking up RB uncs for 5 - 10 dollars. Like much of the market, nice examples have either disappearled, or are selling for multiples of what they used to cost.
