Who here is collecting them, who has since 99?

I have, I need 35 more to complete all the yesrs, 1 missing from 04, and 3 from 05.

I also have the original 50 State Quarters "Map" that was seen on TV, and later sold in Walmart.

I've got the whole set from Philadelphia, and some from Denver and San Fran. I don't particularly like the quarters, however...

Agreed. I got them because they were there.

When you look at what other mints around the world are doing in regard to circulating commemorative coins, the State quarters are tawdry and simplistic.

You guys got all yours via that website? I have only been collecting those that have been given to us in change.

Which also means at some point they was used. :-\

Anyway to get them at quarter value (.25 for .25)

Because, the website haves them, but their sold in bulk, and at a higher price..

Only place I think of is the Bank...

Collecting from change is of course a big part of the hobby, but if you want the unc. mint sets and the proofs in silver, the US mint is the only place to go. If you want the older sets, you have to buy them from dealers now.

That's how you did it? Or via the change? Which sounds like it was how you did it.

I still see the 99-2003 sets. SUrprising enough.

I said earlier that I didn't like the quarters, but I believe that they have severe investment potential. Like the 1999 Silver Proof Sets are going for $350+ That's mostly the reason why I bought the ones that I have bought.

I bought all of the State quarters in mint sets and proof sets from the mint.

The US Mint is now offering the older pieces - which they weren't doing until recently - and which also raises serious supply and demand issues in the numismatic community.

Opening the Pandora's box...

Jazzy, what do you mean? I just looked at the mint's website and didn't see anything.

All of the State quarters are repackaged into Coin and Die Sets, Portfolio Albums, Card Sets, and --- the First Day Covers from past years are still being sold.

All I'm saying is that when the Mint reissues older coins it suggests some quasi anti-trust problems. Are they ameloriated by the new packaging? Are the coins suddenly a new product? I'm not so sure.

What happens when the market is glutted in one way or another? The value of current holdings go down.

Just saying...

?? It does include all 5 for 2006.

But, those prices are high. lol

Now I see, it's because they have more silver then usual?

I've got the $25 bags and rolls for each mintmark, silver & clad proof sets, silver & clad states quarters proof sets and the UNC sets for every year.............all from the U.S. Mint.

The easiest way to get these from the Mint is to enroll for their subscription programs. That way, you won't forget anything.

And what's your address again, Chris? grin.gif

I have all of the clad and silver proof sets and most of the mint sets. I bought the rolls from Indiana to Texas but stopped after that. I got the Arkansas rolls signed by the designer at a coin show. I'd like to get Bill Clinton to sign them at some point. That would really make them interesting.

p.s. I wouldn't have the 2005 mint set if not for a good, kind-hearted ole pal. What was his name again....? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif Oh, some Machuga fella. crazy.gif Thanks again, Chris! You are an extremely cool guy and a good friend!

AT least you guys got the money to buy them.

But what the heck do you all use the rest of the 24 quarters for?? I mean it's reusable money. Unless you buy the SILVER proof set.

All in all, still many gaps for me to fill. 27_laughing.gif

I'm a comic collector, not a coin collector. Hehe

Not true since you're about the only estogen-based life form that actually participates on these boards.
