It would be funny if it weren't so sad yeahok.gif

Not sad.....I think it's hilarious!

Just like Butt-Head used to say "Registry Sets RULE!" 27_laughing.gif27_laughing.gif27_laughing.gif

For $15K I'd get me the best 09-O half eagle or 20-S eagle I could find....IF I could find.

If I had but one coin to buy, it'd be a Gobrech Dollar in solid AU, no net. If not that, a nice VF20/25 1916 DDO buffalo nickel. cool.gif I'd also love an 1838 $10, solid AU. Or a lovely VG10 specimen of a 1794 dollar. How about a nice solid VG10 (EAC) chain cent? Or an extra cool 1793 Liberty cap cent!!!

Too much to think about...

If I had to choose just one coin I'd buy a 24-D Saint in MS-64, but I'd likely split it and buy a 25-D in MS-62 and a 26-S in MS-64. As for the Ike, I'd just put it in a Whitman folder with my other Ikes.

1. I'd start by buying a '95-W SAE to complete my collection;

2. take the rest of the cash to Las Vegas and win the cost of the SAE back on the craps table;

3. take the Vegas winnings and bid on as many MS64-66 Morgans that ACSB has to offer;

4. return to Las Vegas to win the cost of the Morgans back on the craps table;

5. repeat steps 3 & 4 several times;

6. make a strong offer to James for those 9 Morgans & one Peace $ that were nicely-toned in the envelopes;

7. go to Reno instead of Vegas;

8. try to talk Ron into selling me a couple of his gorgeous, toned Morgans;

9. repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, etc., etc., etc., etc.

Does anyone get the feeling I like Morgans?

Chris

I neither believe nor trust the results of this "auction".

Agreed. ANY auction results these days must be held suspect.

I fully trust the results of that auction. Maybe you just haven't run into the number of stupid people that I have. I can see someone with more money than brains buying this coin so he can move up .00135% in his Registry Set.

Also, the coin looks like it has hazed up a little. Only a $20 PF69 now. confused-smiley-013.gif

Well, you may run into stupid people, but I run into the dealers that sell to stupid people. Again, all auction results are suspect. The deals that go on behind the scenes are amazing.
