unreported repunched date

I'd like your opinion on this . I've discovered what I believe to be an unreported repunched data on an early 19th century coin. What would you do? Report it to the coin collecting community immediately or keep the info to yourself for at least a little while in order to look for more examples?

I'd report it to the community at large. There's an excellent reason why, as it just happened to me.

Recently, I found a 1937-S Washington quarter with a gorgeous, and plainly evident (with a loupe) TRIPLED-die obverse. Well, it turns out that though the variety is not listed anywhere that I could find it, a couple of folks I mentioned to have discovered the exact same tripled-die themselves. So although it may not be published anywhere, it may in fact be known. By spreading the knowledge, you contribute to the known rarity (or commonness) of the coin.

I lean towards reporting the variety. But then I have a built in advantage -- I'm an attributer.
